How was your valentines celebration everyone? Ours (hubby and I) was just a simple one. I whispered unto cupid that I only want fresh flowers this valentines and it was granted, thankfully! I only want economical this time. I do not know what comes to my mind (perhaps because we will be three on the coming months) but that is only what I want. Period. :-) Cupid was very good as maybe he/she whispered it too to my dear husband. At afternoon sharp, I was surprised DH went home carried a fresh flowers in a vase (I love it because I do not need to put and arranged it unto our vase, yey! Bonus point. Happy me!) I then make sure I had something for him to be fair. I look for a coat and cap which he would like to have but I cannot find it unto the store nearby to which I headed to the other stuff I planned. Chocolates, balloon and valentines card for my ever dearest. And I did it though he came home before me. :( Nonetheless because my effort worth it, he likes what I gave. Indeed, a happy valentines day for us! Ended up a dinner at home which is great!

No pictures for the two of us, nobody takes a pic. I can't wait for our little one to come out to take us pics.*wink*

bloody red! Yey!

Happy Valentines Day!

January 22, 2011

Okay, this post has been late (actually there more than four posts with only few words I deleted since I am already ashame on you, being late, published late) and please bear with me one more late after this. Sorry about it. I have already this and hope you understand, well, that is not a biggie deal on you anyway. And thanks! ;-)

This day, I am sharing you my shrimp "sinigang" (sour kind) soup with cabbage, green onion leaves, and siningang mix. Oops with water of course.. he he! And yep, I wanted to have a fresh green beans that time to go with it but to no avail. So I just content myself to what I had. Even without the green beans, it was fine and the taste and looks great to eat as what you can see below. You can even enlarge it by clicking the image should you like. Just a tip, you will know that it is "sinigang" by looking at its soup, it is brownish and when you taste it, it's sour which I love most at times, when I crave that is. :-)
Happy eating! ;-)

 Smiling Sally

This is my first time of this year participating a post which contains blue or Smiling Sally's Blue Monday meme. How I love posting memes but due to some important ones that have to be prioritized first, it is just now that I have my "come back" post. And so now, here's my first entry for this year (which it was being taken last October 20th the other year):

Those are three blue cars and the blue curtains in front of the apartment complex. You might wonder where is this, well, this was in front of where Cacai_Nad lives. It is in front of the apartment complex to where DH rented. I was the one who made that shot through my cellphone, such time the time I went up downstairs into the mailbox to get the mails. It was raining though blue colors are still visible! Happy Blue Monday!

Unusual potato was what. Usually, I do mashed potato but such that time (while doing such image below) DH requested by cutting the raw russet potatoes (I still have a bag of ten pounds) and made it into soup. It just only took some minutes, if not only two to three minutes after boiled. Then, while having it boiled, I also put the beef into the reheated broiling pan. By the way, I put meat tenderizer and bell pepper unto the beef just the time a broiling pan reheated so it the meat won't overly tenderized. And so while waiting for the meat to turn, I checked the potato and after it was cooked, I drained the water then sit aside. Here comes the peas and carrots in a can, I warmed it up in a microwave high for about one to two minutes. Just in time, it was heated up, I have to turn the beef then waited again for ten to 15 minutes or until cooked.

I served the broiled beef with an A1 sauce. Can't you see, DH and I both love A1 sauce. ;-) What about you, what sauce you're in when it comes to broiled beef? Whatever it is, for sure you enjoyed eating it, I think so?!

October 23, 2010

It's Friday once again. How time flies. So today am in again for a food trip post which is what I cook last more than a month ago. It was a crispy pork chop and a chicken partnered with steamed rice and chicken gravy over it.

It was not actually a typical type of cook how this served as DH prefers broiled one. But during that time, he likes the fried one. And so I deep-fried the meats with olive  cooking oil as for a low cholesterol and some other benefits an olive cooking oil possess. What a relief to have cooking oil as we won't worried about typical cooking oil has.

Alright, so it is your time to share what has been your food trip this day, what is it? ;-) You may like to share your yummy food trip though. And so, have a great Friday and happy food trip!

Forget about the five months late date on an image above. You can click an image by the way to enlarge, should you like (of course). And so, that is my version of beef chili and beans. I just cooked it like only two times. Yes, I cooked last eight days ago (well you can see as you enlarge the image, dated 28th of May and since it was late for five months, then it was last month ever) then again yesterday. My DH actually got this idea and told me how would I cook it. Then I just figured out it's just easy as 1-2-3. Yes, as simple as that. Once you have the raw ground beef, bell peppers (it is plural since I put red and green ones), garlic, onion, salt, beef bouillon (optional but it's necessary for me) and a can of hormel chili with beans then you're good to go. I will share my simple recipe next time around. For now, let us feast this beef chili beans above then serve over with rice and soft drink. *wink* Have a great day! Happy eating. Ciao..

An image below is a front cover of an electronic United States of America passport or also called as "e-passport" as "e" is an acronym or initial of electronic. It is color dark-blue-black. It is a little bit pricey than my Philippines e-passport but it is ten years of expiration unlike the former is only five years. Each other is just pretty similar, it just differs on color and there's famous quotations on each of the pages of USA e-passport. And also an American passport can be renewed by mail providing the necessary documents and fees unlike the former which applicant should need to have a personal appearance because it needs a personal picture right from consulate's office. Pretty sure in no time Philippines e-passport hopefully can be renewed online too.
USA e-passport
DH also renewed after days I got mine renewal. He just only found out that his passport already expired so renewed too, it arrived after weeks, earlier than maximum told. It arrived last September 24th. Now he has his passport renewed and can now fly anywhere he likes including my birth country. :-)

Let us not forget that "a journey of international miles begins with a passport" - from yours truly. :-)

September 27, 2010

The new passport which I applied last August 6th actually arrived this month (September)'s 2nd week, specifically on the 10th or 11th date. It was not sure what day it arrived since on that 10th day I was not able to get the mail which is unusual to me because I get mails everyday. Okay, it only seldom I lapsed one day. So that explains which perhaps it arrived on 10th or the next day. Nonetheless, it arrives on my hand though. :-) And did I tell you, it is an e-passport already? Yes, it is an electronic passport. By the way, Philippine Consulate e-passport issuance began just June this year. Below is its front image and first page. Yes, it is colored brown not green anymore. I got old green one.
Philippines e-passportfirst page Philippines e-passport
And if you do not know, it is good for five years and before five years, it advisable to be renewed before its expiration date. Like for example Philippines passport was issued August 17, 2010 then it will expire on August 16, 2015. And so that was all about it. It was by the way my first time to renew my passport after marriage and had to report my marriage with my DH especially that my surname now was my DH's surname. I just remembered a co-applicant for renewal from Utah (Los Angeles is the place of passport renewal among states, she didn't report her marriage first and ended up her line-up time is a waste because she has to go first the marriage report. Imagine an hour (or perhaps hours) of waiting which ended up nothing. So just as an unsolicited advise. Please read the requirements before any attempt or else you'll be processing back to zero. A lesson to learn for her and advance learning to you too. :-) Glad I got mine without any hassles and I can travel now to my birth country at any time. :-)
new and old Philippines passport
On the left (green-colored) is an old passport while on the right (brown-colored) is the new, an e-passport. Can you spot its difference aside from its color?

July 29, 2010

These baby shrimps in a jar below which produced as known as "shrimps paste" is light in color unlike as what I used to have ever since. I bought this in 168 Supermarket (yes, supermarket as grocery goods). One woman blogger friend told me that in her place, the 168 Supermarket is a dry goods store but in my place where I am now it is a grocery store. Ooh well, perhaps the same store name or owner name but he/she just let it manage but other person and decided to let it be a dry goods in her place. One name of two or more different goods sold.
There you go. You can see the picture without flash (the first and second picture) and with flash (the third one). I bought this more than two weeks ago and put in refrigerator but I was super loaded and my bitter melon (or "ampalaya") did not last for long (normally) so I have to wait for days or a week so I can open it and saute it with it. Or I can fry it alone with tomatoes, onion and garlic. Mm. ;-) It is good as appetizer or with rice with any drinks should you choose other than water. By the way, you can enlarge images by clicking it should you like it larger. :-) Have a great day!

You may not like it but it is more than I like, as in I love eating vegetables! Am not a vegetarian since I also eat meat. It is just that I was brought up eating vegetables, it is his/her (blind item to protect the person) taste, or whatever which trigger his/her something when eating such. Just like mixed vegetables with coconut milk "ginataang-gulay" cuisine. Some told as vegetables are just only for cows, carabao or any other animal eating grass. As I heard someone said it (actually close relative but was not brought-up eating vegetables), it hurt at first but then I heads up! Yes, I just said unto myself "I don't care!". Ha ha ha! Well, folks are different that is why we are unique in our own way. Though it is taught in the school that eating this would make us healthy but still some folks won't like it. Hem. Whatever! Kiver (expression)! Ha ha ha.
Usual foods together with this cuisine is salty foods as in fried, dried and salted fishes, or any kind of meat. With what I ate last week was with dried fish. I broiled it so no oil as coconut milk has oil with it, naturally from coconut. Sometimes folks I also like eating it with fried dried fish. Then paired with juice drink or any soft drinks like sprite, seven-up, coke or alike.

It's eating time!

Just leaving something before I am heading off to church for a Sunday five o'clock afternoon mass for today. As I can remember, Sunday eleven morning mass is my favorite time hearing the words of God through the bible. Though I was not used to go an 11 a.m. mass as while I was still back in country home but surprisingly I easily adopted it here. And now, for two times in a row, I like more attending this afternoon (going night time) mass. Why? It was because there is a pretty young girl's voice band. Nope, I am not in church just for that but it brings more great ambiance. Yep, not because of the four-seasons banana cake below which is my favorite. ;-) It just feels like a sort of. :)
Align Center
I bought that yummy foodies above so I do not know how to make it but surely it is yum-o! Signing-off now. I leave that sweet deliciously cook foodies above. I have to prepare myself for such an important and great Sunday celebration -- bonding with God and great folks. Ciao for that banana cakes! ;-) Happy Sunday (or Monday to other parts of the globe) all! :-) ~hugs&kisses~

My first black and white sketchers shoes was purchased about three months ago. Literally this is a big help on my journey. I am a person who like to mix and match clothes to shoes, sandals and even bag or any other stuff related to what I wear. Yep, it is not just on going outside but even just inside our house. That is just me as I grow, tend to adopt simplicity and in between. This is a big help because my first choice of plain color of clothes is either black or white aside from brown. It is a combination of my basic colors choice. So I can wear this with such color, plain black shirt or white or any plain jeans or shorts, or either way. I was dying to have a plain black sport shoes but this is better than it though I still want the plain black one. Ha! ;-) Okay, I have to be contented and I am. The plain black is just close to luxury to me because I cannot have it for now or it is not so important. I do not need to save every penny I can just to have it. Ha! ;-) Diary, keep it in memory.

What about you, how do you like mixing and matching colors? What are your choice of basic color for your outfit?

July 12, 2010

Hi folks, how are you today? I bet everything's doing well and that is great! Just get into the happy journey albeit of the trials we experience every now and then. The sufferings are just spices in life so we would know how to appreciate what we have. Just like this sweet potato pie below. It needs to bake it good and mix well. Its ingredients should all gathered together prior to preparing or putting it in a pan. It should have to be like that or else you cannot taste the sweet potato pie you wanted to.

Oops! Am I serious enough? Just currently wanted to eat some sweet potato pie and then off to go to the post office. I have something to mail, return that is. Ah.. sweet potato, I want you now badly. Wanted! ;-) How do you like your taste bud to try something you do not like or you crave for? How do you spoil your craving? Err... I have to go now. See yah later potato pie. :)

June 27, 2010

It has been a long time of not h aving my blue Monday in here. Oops! It is just a literal blue, okay? ;-) As I grew older or a mature individual, I learn how to embrace what I do not like. Just like a color blue, yes, I do not like this particular color before. It is not really that I hate it but I just do not like as what most folks like. My sister likes this color a lot and it actually is her favorite color but not me. But as I said, I now embrace it though it do not become my fave color but ooh, I love it!

Just a good time, last year, my sister gave me a gift -- a blue stuff toy. A teddy bear which I call it teddy. She gave me that blue teddy (pictured above with a card and other stuff) as her first birthday gift for me. Yes, it is first as in first ever birthday gift. ;-) And I kept it, until now it looks like new. :) I am a good keeper so one/she could expect me to do that. With that, I was more happier with my natal commemoration last year. :) And also this year, and hopefully in the next coming years! Have a great Blue Monday everyone! Have a fun weekday!

May 30, 2010

Have a great day folks! How's your weather in there? As of this time and yesterday, the weather here in this side city of ours is certainly hot and humid. But I couldn't complain for more. This is what our weather supposedly and I am embracing it. What I just do to combat this humidity aside from air conditioning stuff or fan, is drinking a lot of liquid. Yes, a lot of water usually cold water and stuffs like ice cream, ice drop, juice, fruits or just anything that is cold. Just lately, I had this thought of making some avocado stuff which ended as my own recipe.

Yep, my own recipe which I called it as "Iced avocado with ice cream". I had a rip avocado which was ready to turn into something, either with my simple mix of condensed milk and mashed it all together with cubes of ice on it or with my thought of such what the title can tell. :) An ice cream adds flavor with it. My taste buds craved for an ice cream so I just put it altogether instead of eating one by one with all the sweetness of them. So I just did what my usual process was which is to mash the avocado with a spoon and put some condensed milk (only this time condensed milk is lesser) then put my favorite "rocky road" (flavor of ice cream) at the top. Then done! And here's another one..

And.. time for chow time! ;-)

By the way, how you like your avocado to be eaten? Can you share your secret?

May 27, 2010

I grew up in a place where sea foods are plenty, different kinds of fish (small and big including shark :), squids, and alike so expect the person to eat foods like that. ;-) Shrimps are just one of those. Though the sea foods whore of me loves it a lot, cooking skill sometimes won't cooperate, that is the immature young me way back. For now, I embrace the love of cooking (trying-hard cook me). There are still a lot and long way to learn the tricks but I am loving every single minute of learning it. Foods. Cooking. Food trip!
Image above taken from my cellphone (without flash {you can enlarge images by clicking it should you like to do so} ) that is why there's no time-stamp unto it (unlike my digital even if it's late, still has it). I cooked it a week ago. That was my first time cooking shrimps with butter though I heard a lot of folks that they cook their shrimps through butter but never ever tried it myself not until AcMomCee/AC/Ace (co-blogger --- I guess you knew her because so far I didn't recognize any name other than her alone in FTF blogosphere, Khayce but not Ace but you know that they are not identical right?) food trip was a buttered shrimp. I looked every detailed of it and every word she wrote.. hahah.. and memorized. Though I don't know if I got all the details she shared but one thing I knew, I didn't forget the important process of it, as well as ingredients (butter with a little oil so it won't go brown, a little vinegar, bell peppers, rose marie leaves, garlic, onion, a little water and I add a little H2O)
I thought I didn't did it good at first because the taste was not good (my most first cooks isn't good) but to my surprise after putting all of the stuffs and balanced the taste, I said to myself "I did it".. lol.. I must be grateful to sis Ace.. thanks marz.. ;-) Image above and the first one are just the same expect the latter, I use a flash or did my magic with the light. So you can choose what you like, either a picture with flash or without... :) So then, happy food trip!

May 25, 2010

I was in the mood of cooking the chicken we had in our refrigerator after of how many days/week that stocked in the freezer. I let out or put the normal low refrigerator temperature so it would be thawed. After that, I began boiling the eggs and gathered the ingredients after. I then put on the vinegar, soy sauce, a dash of iodized salt, a little oil, garlic, onion, a dash of black pepper, bay leaves and a little water. Before that, I skinned-off the pieces of chicken legs. Anyway, one can cook either pre-marinade or not.

I assume you know how to cook chicken adobo, if not, it's just easy. Just put all the ingredients (except the eggs, put it on when just about done) and let it stand for a couple of minutes or hours depending how you like the meat cooked --- if it has to super soft, just in between or just normal. I, too, like either way depending on my taste bud. ;-) But that time I like it super soft and about emptied its sauce. I let it stand for an hour or so. I just lowered the heat after the first boiled or putting up the desired taste.

So then, happy cooking and eating.. ;-)

May 13, 2010

You just can't go wrong without thinking that somebody would surprise me on my birthday. I didn't really expect of it because I wasn't even yet give back to what she gave me last valentines day and now she sent me birthday gifts again. How was that? Won't you be surprised especially if her gifts are all gorgeous? Yep, I bet you it's pretty all awesome in person... I so love it that much that I can't help but so grateful of this blogger friend of mine, so grateful of her presence. Though we haven't yet meet in person but seems we were friends since back then... Ooh well.. it was just one year ago and in just one instance we're already clicked with each other. Do you know the feeling of friendship being "click" with each other? If you know, you can then tell how it is. Yep, it is not that easy to find a friend that you can be with each other, online that is, but you have that such friendship bond that more than an in person ones. Ooh well, she(Demcy)'s full of generosity, thoughtfulness and kindness. I appreciate it that much! Here's what she gave me.
a beautiful cute lavender(my fave color) and blue(color of the year) blouse

Above is another pretty cute lavender racer back shirt, look at the print (Friends fun and peace sign, this coincides with my jersey lavender jersey shorts --- great for hot summer)! Isn't it that pretty? Yes, it is! ;-) It's prettier in person, really it is.

Two pretty "TooFaced" glamorous lip glosses, lavender cute hooked earrings (which I wear until now, my ears are that choosy but this earrings suits its choosiness that's why it's my fave casual hook stone earrings plus it's gorgeous lavender color --- she got my weakness when it comes to pretty lavender ;-) Thanks a lot madam sis Dhemz!

And her beautiful lovely birthday card and a wonderful sweet message

I know words are not enough to express my gratefulness and no beyond expression I can tell but you know how lucky I am to have a friend like you. I know you are great but I have to say you are awesomely best. I really appreciate your kindness and such ({I hope to keep up on your birthday... ;-). I know that if you give, you don't expect in return but I will try my best to keep up on your special day, bday on August}. Thanks a lot! You are awesomely best! God bless you more and as always... Lab yah.. :-) ~hugs&kisses~

May 02, 2010

Monday, ooh Monday... here you are! It's time for blue color hunting folks. Time indeed flies so fast as if we will not chase upon it. And now, it's Monday! My entry is crystal clear blue sky with a dash of beautiful white clouds on it. It is just a sign that the weather we had the following days (and onwards ;-) is still as this. I couldn't be happier for it. No much so worried about nature problems and such. God is great!

blue color sky

I got tempted with my phone to catch this beautiful blue color sky with a dash of white clouds which looks like cottons up above in the apartment complex where DH and I stayed. It's beautiful so I again, I can't resist out of it. ;-)

moi haggard look with blue trash can, dash of blue in my red shirt and bubbles ;-)

Yep, it's me on my haggard look. I just woke that time, then went out straight unto facing up in front of my PC doing some checking and at the same time doing my art thing (you can see it at my art above.. ha ha ha! ;-)

Happy blue color hunting Monday! For more Blue Monday, head on to Smiling Sally blog. Have fun hunting.. ;-)

fresh fruits: cantaloupe, green and red melon

My food trip this Friday is fresh fruits. Buying peeled fresh cut fruits, is not that my type not until sometimes ;-). I usually buy whole fresh fruits and I am the one who will just peel and cut it whenever I and DH like to eat, yeah we buy preserved fruits which are in cans so anytime we feel like to eat --- it is always available since its expiration is longer. I know, nothing is best than fresh fruits and I nod on that, who won't? Well, that is your own perception and opinion. That is your own appetite and you are the master of yourself and I respect that. :-) So then, the fruits that I bought which I bought another one to which am currently eating right now are mostly cantaloupes and melons (green and red). I just bought separately an avocado, banana, ripe mangoes, apples and oranges. I so love to eat fresh fruits! When it's already peeled and cut from the store, you just have to consume it on or before the "best before" date or else its odor and taste are no good no more. I just like it because I need not to exert an effort and time peeling the fruits skin and just munch in every time I feel like it. ;-) Ooh well, during laze days.. hah.. And I would like to include it in my grocery list today that I will going to get it hours from now. I am just busy --- keep on running up of the time, ooh well, lots of going to do but just so little time... :-(

So then, have a great foodie trip this Friday! For more of my food trips, just click the label "fFod Trip Friday" or "kitchen journey" and for more foodies from other participants or if you wish to join, click the logo below, should you like to do so. Have fun... ;-)
