two inches high heeled

It was months already that am into buying a black pump shoes or a black close high heeled shoes for some formal occasion or going to church. It could also be use in time of interview moment, I mean an interview for a job (one day soon). So last week, the store that I am eye-ing of is having a sale and I saw this stuff, well, this pump shoes is not in-sale but nevertheless, I bought it. But at first, I really want that three inches or three and a half heeled but they don't have my size which is only seven. I tried it if it's okay to have an additional of a half but it can't so I just settled for this two inches. Ooh well, at least am a bit of comfortable because I have it already and at least am comfortable as if am just walking with my normal everyday shoes with in-sole stuff which is a flat shoes. But then still am chasing for the three inches or three and a half which I saw in an online store and it is on-sale (really the stuff is on-sale) and there is much inexpensive in our local store but a bit far. Ooh well, I want this one below.

Black Westies Barella of three and a half inches high heeled

Okay, am out there laugh out laughing of some sort because I can't have it for now, eh? Ooh yeah, I will just wait for the right time and a right budget.. heheheh.. :) Good luck for me.. aww... :)

This is so far my first taste of pork blood stew or "dinuguan" here in US of A but definitely not my very first ate. I like this cuisine so much but yeah some folks think this is weird especially the Muslims?... Americans also would be shock of this cuisine but to other folks like me, it taste so good and so delicious! There are two ideas of color this cuisine is as what I have seen in my entire eating of this food. :) Some cook like to do the brown color pork blood stew and some likes to have the idea of black color though there are many ways of how they cook it, according to ingredients and measurements but all uses vinegar and spices. :)

This cuisine is great if paired with white rice cakes or steamed rice. Then a bottle of 12 ounce soft drink afterward. :) That is it folks, have a great food trip Friday! Enjoy eating.. :)

What have you seen if you would enlarge the photo and look closely the print on my white shirt I wear in the photo below (sorry for the clutters, I just came from downtown)?
Ooh folks, you can see the print below. This is just for fun but definitely I would never wear this shirt outside our house. Eeeee. I do not want to be misunderstood for folks who do not know what photo fun is. Eeeee...

gizzard adobo in skillet

I know typical Americans or some part of the world do not like inner body part of meat as their food but most Filipinos do (am a Filipino). People of any areas have differences and I understand that. I even read some not-so-good comments on other blogs but I do not care, it is their business so I respect them. Anyhoo, speaking of adobo(pork adobo) it is very well-known as it is Filipinos signature food, I guess. What about gizzard adobo? Male pinoys like this a lot. I remember, my late grandfather and other male relatives in an island, loves this so much to which I was curious of tasting it. The way it is cook makes a difference. I like it a lot and now, I somewhat get used to it. :-) An image above is what I cooked more than two weeks ago (the date tells), it was my first time cooked of this as I do not like cooking when I was still single and besides I haven't seen this before in the place where I am now, so definitely my first time. I planned to cooked it as fried because I am not that good in adobo as to pork adobo --- I cannot perfect it as to what the typical adobo taste but fortunately, it turned into adobo without my knowledge.. :-) I utilized the spices I had to which those are: garlic, onion and three colors of fresh bell peppers (green, orange and red) with olive oil, soy sauce and a pinch of salt then a touch of water. My mind planned only to fried it but to my surprise I was gathering some spices which you do not need when frying, then I just then continued because I had it already in my hand. hehehe.. what a coincidence. :-) So the adobo recipe went. I used a lot of spices (half to soak it and half on the final touched) to get the smell of chicken. And to my surprise, I did it good to what I didn't expect but the taste that I adored when someone good at adobo does. Whew! It is really good when it's just only a little sauce it has or let it soak for minutes with its sauce leaving it a bit. Just not a lot of salt but more soy sauce and a touch of water so the sauce is not dark, and also be sure the oil is not much and not less --- just enough that you could see the oil when it is already cook. Boiling the gizzard before the adobo process is the important step.

Above image is fresh from my skillet and ready for me to eat. :-) Actually, I just ate minutes ago because I craved as I saw this image. :-) Have fun eating (if you like gizzard)! Paired it with soft drink after ward. (~_~)

deep-fried tilapia fish dinner w/ french fries, fried rice, corn tortilla, beans and salad

That was from fast-food resto foodies to which the names are just below the image. That was my food as dinner for me with green lemonade. I do not like the tortilla and salad in the image personally so I just let it go. DH understands so it's okay to put it to where it just right. I then indulge myself eating the other foods I like with bare hands at the house :-), dip the deep-fried tilapia to my home made vinaigrette (made of vinegar, soy sauce, tomato, onion and a little lemon) and munch in! (~_~) The tilapia is a highlight of mine because I usually order red snapper or catfish, or grilled salmon but because I can imagine the awesome smell of it, I then let my DH get it and to my surprised it was big and so yummm-o! It is meaty and I got what I imagined. I was having a good time with our dinner. Then suddenly, I came to remember my diet. Ooh no diet that time, I let my tummy bulge.. lol... Perhaps if I continue eating more than my body needs made me think that perhaps one day would be checking on some quick weight loss stuff. Whew! My gosh... Anyway, my DH partner got his choice of fried cat fish with tartar sauce and some other sauces like hot sauce and such, french fries, macaroni and cheese, french cobbler then paired with pink lemonade. We had a blast! :-)

the carport below in the apartment (taken recently; night time)

It is raining men! It is raining in my place right now. This started lately early in the morning then went all the way until this time. Even with that DH went to Long Beach to had his hair cut. Then hours later after he arrived home, he ordered lunch good for two (and what could other be when we are just two in the house? *winkz*). Then we went to the neighboring city (Pasadena) but before we got the order we went strolling first around the area though we were just inside the car since it was raining and it is until now. DH played a loud sound and it made me happy, it was not loud on the outside part concerning about other drivers because it was raining hard. Pasadena is nice, big buildings than our city and it is pretty organize like our city. :-) So then we strolled around and I got to see again the beauty of the place before we off to get the food. It was a pretty strolling and I was happy with the DH as well. Then the rain continued. I had the shot minutes before I write this. It shows the amount of rain that the apartment complex (where we live) carport has. When it is just normal rain, it would not look like that because it has its own water port. And below the recent image by the way was the image during the powerful storm which happened about four weeks ago here in SoCal. You can also click the image to enlarge if you feel like to.

And it is still raining until now here in my place. So what about in yours folks, did it rain in there? I hope you are in the best of everything... hugs and kisses.. muahhh!

broiled catfish fillet, corn, rice w/ gravy

A typical dinner of DH is through broiling. It is either beef, fish, pork, steaks, or chicken as long as it's broiled. Broiling by the way is similar to grilling but only it is done through microwave. I know mostly of you know but to this is to those who's confuse. Broiling food is easy. All cook would do is warm up the broiler while putting spices, salt or the easy seasoned salt (ingredients in it: salt, sugar, corn starch, yellow 5 or 6, red 40, and blue 2, natural flavors, silicon dioxide--anticaking agent) to the meat. And then put into oven for the desired minutes. Usually for fish is of every half an inch thick it's five to 10 minutes turning upside down twice or until it is fully cook.

The husband likes to have his dinner with corn or sometimes greens heated, then steamed rice with gravy at the top. Then paired with juice drink with ice. Yep, with ice even if it's winter time. That's just what he like so give to what his taste content.

As for me, I do love vegetables more than meat and often like grilled foods, broiled too. What about you, do you love broiled meat?

Enjoy eating...

Nobody beats fresh fruit salad but I don't have that much but I had canned so what I did was I just combined the two to attained what I wanted to or should I say I could have fresh too---knowing that a canned fruit cocktail is enough to make a salad. :-) So I drained the canned fruit cocktail to separate the juice and the fruits. I also had a can of whole kernel corn and drained as well. While those canned fruits draining, I peeled red apple and so the green ones but then I thought that it would be nice that the skin would be left on (for some other apple) for colorful purposes. So that's what I did. Some cut apples were skin peeled off and some don't. I also cut fresh ripe banana. Then opened the small canned nestle cream and condense milk, prepare two to three tablespoons peanuts. Yes, I put peanuts. You can lessen or add more if you like. I then mix all the ingredients (drained small can fruit cocktail, small can whole kernel corn, cut peeled and skinned red & green apple, small can nestle cream, two to three tablespoons of condense milk, two to three tablespoons peanuts) and done! I let it cool first (I put in freezer for two minutes and transfer down after) then serve! It's eating time... :-)

After how many days of raining here in Southern California, at last the sun shines for long and no rain no more (sunshine after the rains)! Thanks God. The rain started Saturday---the 16th of this month and it ended yesterday. What a series days of rains huh! Yep, we SoCal actually was hit with rainstorm and the areas (that was wrecked by fire last summer) and its surroundings were having flood and muddy. Some owner of the houses affected were sad that they don't got a home insurance even from affordable ones. Now, people are inquiring some insurance quotes so by circumstances like this, they won't be that so affected. By the way, here in my place, East Alhambra, were not that much affected (thanks God) but we were not spared by the wind, cold, and as I said unending days of rain. And these are the sky's images today from here in our place.

This is one of the fruits that I missed eating eat here in USA. You could only seldom found this in any store here. Glad I found one in 168 SM last Sunday as I went shopping in there. You know I could only go there sometimes and once I am there, I really spent time searching those stuffs that I missed way back in my homeland. Well, homesick sometimes struck on me especially when it comes to foods. I was very happy I found the above fruit (guava or we call it back in homeland as "American guava" because of its size) that I even take a picture. :-) Ooh well, this is one of my firsts here in the place where I am now. So better have a remembrance, the ejournal takes good care of it. :-)

What about you, do you like eating this kind of fruit? What I know is that women loves eating this, do you? Have a good day!

My fiber optic Christmas tree w/ stuffs and lights at night

Christmas day is fast approaching and it's only eleven days to go! Are you excited? Hmmmm... How could you then feel that Christmas is on the way? Can you feel its countdown?

For me, I could feel it through Christmas tree, lights, decorations and songs over th
e radio, on TV, especially in the house and in the neighborhood. I don't know but that's how I basically feel it. Two days ago I told my DH that I couldn't really feel that Christmas is in the air because we don't have decorations in our house yet. Though I already have the stuffs from last year but I didn't felt like doing it. My first time here in America, I felt excited and felt like I did the decorations at the onset of "ber" month and DH laugh at me because he said the tradition is after Thanksgiving Day. Then the next year, I just followed what's the tradition, I did the decoration after TD. Then this year is opposite. But I made up my mind to shop (though hubby was hard to convinced because of the rain) and decorated it afterward (that was two days ago), and did. I can now feel the spirit of the coming holiday. I am like a child, chasing the Christmas tree and the lights always, I feel happy doing it. :-) By the way, I use big and tiny lights (both changing colors and steady), put some lights, and garlands (colorful, single color {white, yellow, and lavender) on the decorations and tree aside from the basic light of the fiber optic (I think that's why the light stands out). By the way, you can click the images to enlarge. :-)

cup cake, chocolate cake, donuts, and ice cream

Ooh yummy Friday! It's Friday once again. Time for Food Trip! Here's my food trip last night. Seeing the label, it's cup cake, chocolate cake, donuts, and ice cream. I don't know but it just came to my mind last night that my taste wants donuts and nothing else. And hubby said nope instead we will buy anything from other store since it's already close, hours passed after exchanging ideas and either he will go out (~_~).. we got the idea of just any sweet bread and my fave ice cream in 7/11. So we went out but minutes after the car ran, he smiled and I just smiled too. Then I found the direction didn't went to the agreed store but the donuts store (which is faraway). Then a big grin came unto my face. :-) But unfortunately the donuts store was closed already (that was about 10 pm), then we just then headed to 7/11 and voila! There's donuts there! So we got the foods above, just for me.. (~_~). By the way, he ate something we have in the house too.

Have a happy food trip!
