gizzard adobo in skillet

I know typical Americans or some part of the world do not like inner body part of meat as their food but most Filipinos do (am a Filipino). People of any areas have differences and I understand that. I even read some not-so-good comments on other blogs but I do not care, it is their business so I respect them. Anyhoo, speaking of adobo(pork adobo) it is very well-known as it is Filipinos signature food, I guess. What about gizzard adobo? Male pinoys like this a lot. I remember, my late grandfather and other male relatives in an island, loves this so much to which I was curious of tasting it. The way it is cook makes a difference. I like it a lot and now, I somewhat get used to it. :-) An image above is what I cooked more than two weeks ago (the date tells), it was my first time cooked of this as I do not like cooking when I was still single and besides I haven't seen this before in the place where I am now, so definitely my first time. I planned to cooked it as fried because I am not that good in adobo as to pork adobo --- I cannot perfect it as to what the typical adobo taste but fortunately, it turned into adobo without my knowledge.. :-) I utilized the spices I had to which those are: garlic, onion and three colors of fresh bell peppers (green, orange and red) with olive oil, soy sauce and a pinch of salt then a touch of water. My mind planned only to fried it but to my surprise I was gathering some spices which you do not need when frying, then I just then continued because I had it already in my hand. hehehe.. what a coincidence. :-) So the adobo recipe went. I used a lot of spices (half to soak it and half on the final touched) to get the smell of chicken. And to my surprise, I did it good to what I didn't expect but the taste that I adored when someone good at adobo does. Whew! It is really good when it's just only a little sauce it has or let it soak for minutes with its sauce leaving it a bit. Just not a lot of salt but more soy sauce and a touch of water so the sauce is not dark, and also be sure the oil is not much and not less --- just enough that you could see the oil when it is already cook. Boiling the gizzard before the adobo process is the important step.

Above image is fresh from my skillet and ready for me to eat. :-) Actually, I just ate minutes ago because I craved as I saw this image. :-) Have fun eating (if you like gizzard)! Paired it with soft drink after ward. (~_~)

turquoise {color of the year}

Be it a dress {whole dress, shirts, shorts, skirts, jeans}, shoes {sandal, pump shoes, flat/ballet, flip flop}, shawl, cap, and the like as long as it dresses my bod up, is my weakness personally --- I admit. :-) Though clothing is a necessity but I go beyond to urban clothing, this is perhaps the urge of having do not have a lot when I was young and part of growing up aside from I live now in urban neighborhood. You know... we also have to blend in to our surroundings and the season. Oops, is it about spring yet? Yep, it is coming on next days... and am excited not just for spring cleaning but for the change of weather. And my turquoise dress is waiting.. :-) I am thinking of wearing such this Sunday on my bessy Au child baptism that was why I bought such {actually three} yesterday and a pair of stiletto black sandal. It is a bit pricey but sometimes I have to indulge myself shopping as stress-reliever too aside from the fact that clothing is my weakness and it is just a walking distance to where I (me and DH) live. It is accessible and I love that fact. By the way, DH treat me for that, okay? :-) Oops! By the way, the image is intentionally blurred for some purpose. :-)

Yeah, some of you might do not like Miley Cyrus and I respect you for that though I do not know why {do not want to know, it is not my thing T_T}. Everybody has a right so be it. :-) Alright, it is Music Monday (MM) again and this time I am featuring the song "When I look At You" by an apparent singer I introduced already --- Miley Cyrus. Below is the music video from her concert Hope for Haiti last year (October 25th). I was touched of this song and I have to say "this song is great!" . My hair skins stands up {I actually play again and again, still playing it now} as hearing this song. I just do not know the feeling but I can assure it is a great one, I recon. I thought at first glance of this title as something negative but as I view it, you know already what I say as I already told it twice already and for the third time I have to say it is awesome! She sing sang and deliver it well aside from the thought of the song is cool in general --- the essence of love. By the way, I got the idea of this music {though she let forwarded the lyric video only, I find this cool for this entry but the official video is exceptional for me --- I just cannot put it here for some reason} by a Plurk buddy, Ipod_Nana. Thanks to her. Oops, I do not want this to go further because I wanted to hear it again and perhaps you also wanted to watch and hear it now. So, here it is {and let me know what yah think afterwards through commenting :-) }:

Ranunculus Asiaticus

If you only know how healthy and blooming plant is this days ago or if you are a plant lover, you will also feel the nostalgic I feel as I see this yellow Ranunculus Asiaticus plant (together with the red color flowers) dying day by day. I am sad because this has a lot of buds that are about to bloom yet it could not rise anymore. :-) I cannot help it but just hold and embrace the sad journey of my plant. I wanted to do something in order this to live but I can see that it will no longer as alive as I have this a while ago. All I have to do is just witness. :-) This is the second pot plant died here in my new place I called a second home in the care of my hands. I said to my husband that I will just buy another outdoor plant perhaps next week and it would be an outdoor lucky bamboo or a green cactus, in that way I am confident that it will last long because it is already proven by my care. I do not regret of buying this but to the point that I do not know how it looks like the image above, I do! Hmmm.. I have to comfort myself --- that is alright. :-) By the way, I have this plant on my hands during valentines day. It was only about three weeks. :-(

a yellow Ranunculus Asiaticus

Do you remember our high school science subject flora and fauna? Heheheh.. yep, it is where I got my title aside from my paternal grandmother name is "Flora". Alright, flora is botany term of flower whereas fauna is an animal term. I was anxious to have a live flower near my laptop when setting on my computer station table. I wonder if you know why beside the reason of beautification. It is to protect my eyes against the computer radiation {though findings said there is no harmful effect of computer radiation unlike x-ray or ultra-violet rays} - I just like it. The third reason is I have something to see if ever I want to look for something have a life whenever my husband is not around. (~_~) Yep, I have it and the image above I took after valentines day this year. I like this plant because it has a lot of buds that are about to bloom --- more than six. But sad to say that it is dying nowadays. I will put up the current image I have on the next. I am sad. :-(

As of my age right now, I am thinking if I already have to consider using anti-aging eye cream to combat wrinkles. I am skeptical in the other side of my mind knowing that I am still in the late 20's of age, well going thirty already. Wow... am a bit of surprise to know it, seems like it is just yesterday I was twenty-five and then a couple of weeks after tomorrow I will be in my thirty! Eewww... aw, that is fine. Age does not matter as long as we believe that age are just numbers or it will matter if we let it. Okay let us say I am about to jump the calendar dates, does it also mean that I am already prone to wrinkles? I am asking the expert please... If ever I am already okay with that matter, getting an eye cream review will be the first thing I would do so I can have some info what customers say about the product I like to buy. Their reviews will play a great impact on my purchase. To tell you, sometimes especially I am tired or stressed I can see wrinkles around my eyes. Ha! Is this a sign of aging? Waaaaa... Wish me luck that I am not on that matter folks! :-)... By the way what about you, do you already have wrinkles around your eyes?

Hello folks, how everyone doing? I hope you all the best on this day and onwards. Today is already Friday in Philippines and beyond (as well as other countries that is advance five hours advance from Eastern Time (ET) or eight hours advance here in Pacific Standard Time (PST). We all know that 12:01 AM is already another day, so welcome Friday! That is also mean that weekend is coming... For now, let us have some food tripping this Friday. This time, my food trip is my own version of beef steak. I actually do not plan to cook beef steak as of cooking the image below days ago but to my surprise, I have seen that is already a beef steak (but my own version)! (LOL).. I can still remember a cousin of mine who is good in making her special beef steak that she has to put force through paddling the steak over the beef to make it soft and as she said deliciously-taste. Then she has to marinade it overnight with lemons and all that marinade stuffs. What I did was simple but I made it to the point that it is savory because I did not marinade it overnight. I just steam it a couple of minutes to soak with the flavor and spices.

my own version of beef steak

How I did it? I separate the onions and bell peppers for starting (browning it with cooking oil before the beef is put) and finishing (after steaming the ingredients drowning each other) as to what you can see over the finished cook beef steak above that it was not that soft. Then I put three (3) colors of bell peppers --- red, orange and green. And of course garlic is present as well as beef bouillon even though pure beef is present. I intended such for it to make it more beefy savory. And again, I boiled it for a couple of minutes so all the ingredients and main meat mixed good together (I did not marinade it that is why). Olive oil, a little soy sauce and water --- are also present.

That is it folks! Happy eating! :-)

sauteed white sardines noodles soup

As you noticed on the date if you enlarge it, it was 18th the other month (February 18), yep, that is right. I craved for noodles with sardines that time and since I have fresh wet noodles from the market and white sardines along with the spices I wanted to mixed, the craving granted! :-) {And nope, I am pregnant huh! } And so the cooking continued... after a couple of minutes preparing and slicing the stuffs needed, the cooking was finished. It was just just easy because I do not need to find or ran to the store for the ingredients. All I did was to mix and match so it would taste good to my taste. My husband was at work that time so I was the only to eat and need not worried of what I had to cook for him (definitely he do not like to eat noodles soup) so we could eat together or else it was not good for me to eat alone and the husband was hungry on the other side. So that was it, I will going to give the recipe of what I had on the next post. For now, you may like to guess what I put on it as what you can see in the image above. I guess you will guess it right because it is such an easy one. Have a great noodles soup day! And now I am craving again.. (~_~)

Yeah, it is wordless to the sense that the goodies are free delivered to your door or mailbox. I went to the shopping center at my place two days ago and I came home about dark already then I opened my mailbox at the other stairways entrance, then there I was surprised because I did not expect that it was as quick as it. I was just answering from their guessing game at Facebook a day ago and unexpectedly as fast and quick as that, delivered right to your address! I would like to thank my genuine blogging friend Tsang Shydub (Aliehs Worthington in Facebook -- you may like to add her too in there) of Simple Happy Life for letting me know through her blog post while I was doing my round (blog hopping) and reading my fave blogs. I then add IZEA, Inc --- as a fan and tried if I still have slot for their freebies and to my surprised (as well) I still have! :-) Apparently, I was happy! (~_~) I won payperpost' thirteen inches (13") pen, an IZEA sticker, and a thank you note. For now, it is t-shirt! And the good thing is you too can have too! Yep, you read it right.. free t-shirt with free shipping and handling too, as in all free for deliver at your door if you got a cool interesting name of the shirt. You have to watch the video in order for you to have an idea should you like to do so. If you wish to own one, then go ahead and add IZEA as a fan. Below are the images of the goodies I had (and currently waiting for the t-shirt I just won) uploaded at their fan page. I love it! :-) Definitely wordless as I opened my mailbox two days ago and upon receiving freebies. (~_~)

What do you think folks, is it wordless on you? For me, apparently it is (you can see at my smiles)! :-) Have a great Wednesday everyone... have a blast!

March 02, 2010

Whoops am a bit late for Music Monday (MM) entry for this week though I have this already in my mind three days ago hoping that I am one of the first five to get on the list of music trippers last Sunday here in my place which is apparently is Monday already in Malaysia (where the host live). Anyhow, I am still not that late because it is not yet Wednesday... :-) I cannot pass this time to put this music trip I heard and wanted to share to you folks especially to the young-at-heart and those who enjoyed texting as well to which this song is dedicated to and some feeling involve. Friendship also has been in mind in this song. This week I am featuring the teen music new star D&A duo (DeAnn and Alex) of their song "Texting". It is so cool to me and I like the tone of the music, as in you will like to dance along with them. And also what made DeAnn one cool star is that her mother is one of the Pinay diva also and perform in prestigious singing entertainment. This fresh music star DeAnn is a look-a-like of her mother or also known as "mother-daughter look-a-like" , what a cool huh! For now, let's watch and jive of D&A music video "Texting", here it is:

I have my favorite bread though I only seldom do not like any as in perhaps I like all.. lol.. But no, some bread I do not like. There are bread that tasted like sour and some just too sweet. For the sweet ones, I like ensaimada or "ensaymada". I also like "pandesal" which mostly Filipino (people of the Philippines) knew or eat this, some called "pandesal" as Philippine National bread. Though there are many great taste breads out there which I also like it yet milk bread or "pan de leche" is my fave. I usually put some cheez whiz in it and paired with milk and coffee.

milk bread (pan-de-leche)

I got an idea of putting some cheez whiz unto inside from my bessy A. I usually just eat this alone without anything fillings inside of it. And with hot milk (now I drink coffee to combat my sleepyhead) for drink or juice if it is afternoon. This is good for snacks or in between meals. It is usually five pieces I can consume when I eat this for now. I remember my husband told me before that I should not eat only bread for a meal because it is just only for prison... lol.. Oops I was on diet.. lol.. Oops, just kidding.. I eat bread even if it was about to eat meals that was why my grandmother always scolded me. :-( ... at least it is of budget, right? LOL.. Okay folks.. let us have some.. :-)

I would like to input this post to "Food Trip Friday". If you wish to see more of my food trip entries, you may visit my food trips and if you like to see other food trippers or you feel like joining, feel free to click the image below.. Happy FTF! :-)

Have you have your manic Monday today? Then try to listen some song to entertain your thoughts.. It is Music Monday(MM) again! This time I am featuring "Black Eyed Peas" band to the tune of "Where Is The Love?" song. Oops am not having a quest for love huh---you already know that am already married so no bad intention, it is the thought that I like of this song and the way the song delivered. Peace to all humankind. Peace to the world! Let us make this a better place. Let us do our each other's task delegated unto us. Woohoo! So serious me huh... :-) I also like their song "Shut Up" since it is in shutting up sometimes that makes the situation better though we thought that we are correct, what do you think? But the song for now is "Where Is The Love", let us watch and here it should you like to, here it is:

pastel

Oops, it is Food Trip Friday time---it is foodies time! Today my food trip entry is sweets. My all-time one of my favorite sweet, Pastel which was Camiguin (my hometown), Philippines delicacy. This was my " pasalubong " given by my virtual friend Dhemz which is coincidentally from Misamis Oriental too (not that so neighbor but not too far). Actually this was my wish the time she and her own family have a vacation in our home country. It seems to me that I was also there vacationing. (~_~) Nope, it is the fact that I miss my hometown that is why this "pasalubong" is so important to me.. hehehe.. Thanks to my madam sis for making it possible.. oops she do not want this to tell that it came from here yet I did, she is just humble. So that is it. Pastel is one of the best of Camiguin aside from its sweet lanzones. If you happen to come there, you might like to try this one--it comes from different flavor like yema, ube, etc. Okay, that is enough or else you might say I am paid for this. I have to tell you not, I am not paid for this! I am just a satisfied eater (lol) :-).

half a dozen pastel

Okay, that is it. Happy Friday food tripping! :-)

sweetened black sticky rice (biko) with its puddings and stuffs

Hello folks, how is everyone doing? How is your Wednesday? I hope all are fine and doing great. On my side, I am a bit hungry now... (mmmmm) especially looking at this snacks above. Let us have some of it... have you ever tried such? For me, it was my first time eating with all the package shown on the image. Usually it is just composed of black sticky rice and some bread but I was curious what was the taste of that yellow pudding paired with the stuff on the small circle white stuff. It was delicious only the sweet black sticky rice was not that soft compared to normal cooking, I guess I got the not-so-good one but still it taste good. If it was soft then I would say it was perfect. Next time, I have to get the soft one... my preference is not that good on a little not-so-soft. Others (I guess) likes it that way. I guess, you like it this way? Enjoy eating... :-)

deep-fried tilapia fish dinner w/ french fries, fried rice, corn tortilla, beans and salad

That was from fast-food resto foodies to which the names are just below the image. That was my food as dinner for me with green lemonade. I do not like the tortilla and salad in the image personally so I just let it go. DH understands so it's okay to put it to where it just right. I then indulge myself eating the other foods I like with bare hands at the house :-), dip the deep-fried tilapia to my home made vinaigrette (made of vinegar, soy sauce, tomato, onion and a little lemon) and munch in! (~_~) The tilapia is a highlight of mine because I usually order red snapper or catfish, or grilled salmon but because I can imagine the awesome smell of it, I then let my DH get it and to my surprised it was big and so yummm-o! It is meaty and I got what I imagined. I was having a good time with our dinner. Then suddenly, I came to remember my diet. Ooh no diet that time, I let my tummy bulge.. lol... Perhaps if I continue eating more than my body needs made me think that perhaps one day would be checking on some quick weight loss stuff. Whew! My gosh... Anyway, my DH partner got his choice of fried cat fish with tartar sauce and some other sauces like hot sauce and such, french fries, macaroni and cheese, french cobbler then paired with pink lemonade. We had a blast! :-)

It could be an annoying message/sign to the person on its aging cycle or some experience hormonal change. Be it wrinkles on any aging spot that you do not know that it was there. Yep, it is a great struggle for a person that has age spots visibly. Though it does not mean that one is old enough already but you will not know that it is why he/she has to undergo and find the best one in town which can guarantee the age spot removal to function properly. I hope everyone is at its best and such. Be happy and do not mind the aging drama! :-)

at the parking lot, that blue building where my DH works---look at the two front trees, were those dead?

Yep, this image was taken (from my cellphone cam) as of new year (January 1) this year the time that we went to DH workplace. For now(winter season), most of the trees looks like that dead ones. It does not snow in the city where I am in here in Southern, California yet still the trees are like in snow areas---seems dead. Though I am not that in awe when seeing trees like these yet I recalled when I first saw such. I thought it really were dead. But to tell you, it will become green again when spring come in. So that is it. That is my share of my wordless one. I am not wordless now but the first time I saw it, really I was wordless (like the image below)! :-(

A womanly me think if there is any food that can burn fat because normally foods are the one who exert fat and will turn some other people to become fat or obese. And now, I just saw that there are foods that burn fat (that can increase your metabolism?)! Actually, I now remember that I already heard this before that such food is good for fat peeps. And that it is good for them because of their health. Those are usual foods so I guess there's no big deal with it. How do you like it by the way? Many fat candidates will surely consider to see and observe this food huh. I cannot think of any foods to say because I haven't encountered any of this food yet. Perhaps we will have shake hands and introduce ourselves when we bump each other (~_~). But yeah am serious about this issue and perhaps I will consider to check about it if I think that I need such for my health.

February 05, 2010

Our body weight is important when talking about our health. We already know that when peeps are obese there are a lot of tendencies of health problems. It is very much prone to diabetes, high blood pressure, skin problem, and all that stuffs that constitute our very own primary wealth which is the health. So what have you done about it? Are you in a constant everyday exercise for like even 15 minutes of brisk walking or doing household chores that would move your body? Many also tried some organic diet pills and obese candidates got to see some reviews like quick trim extreme burn reviews and some others like that. My question is, are you overweight or obese? What have you do about it? As of me, when weight is the topic I am guilty but not that so much because I only gained like three to five pounds. Before I was 108 and now I am on in between 102 and 113. How about you? I wish you all the good health folks... hugs... all the best!

First time I started blogging, I was so naive on what are the ways and means to start it up and running pretty okay. I was reading and all the reading about anything about what blogging is. I found some cool information, some are just not a good one to read on for what I wanted to find. It's the process and the stuffs evolve around its name. I know it is not that easy because I am not that so familiar with the html, codes, templates and stuffs like that. I had a lot of reading and that consumed my time but informational--it sound complaining but I am not. I got it more on my self-help and also was lucky enough that whenever I had something wanted to that I think they knew more, they were ready to help. Thanks to my online virtual friends. Speaking of self-help, I also find ways and means to submit my this blog to several directories. I also spent a lot of time with that. This time, there are a lot of free directory submission already that let you submit your blog/s that you think you like it provided some cool information. You may feel like to submit it there or not it is up to you but perhaps you already know how important is a website to be indexed. The final decision is yours.
