Am going there together with my friend Analou and her hubby. They gonna get me at my home. I already cooked spaghetti and done wrapping my gift for baby Julianna. It is my friend, Chelle's baby first birthday party tomorrow. And it will be held in their house at Lake Elsinore. Surely, there's a whole roasted pig (lechon-baboy) and the pigging-out is completely is. Folks attending have to get ready their diet pills
afterwards as to the sense that eating fun could be seen with a lot of chitchat or karaoke fun. Ah, I cannot wait. Ha! This will be my last attend of a party especially because it is far from my place. The travel journey would take one-two hours. And the fact that am already in my third trimester, I should have to stop attending parties already. :-) My doctor avoided me of crowds and long travels so I have to go that way. :-) Best wishes for the party birthday tomorrow. Happy first birthday to baby Julianna! ~hugs&kisses~

Yes, a whole roasted pork. Should you be grumpy or happy seeing this pork? Are you wordless to see this kind of food? Oops, don't tell me it's an animal abuse because this is one special food when it comes to Filipino party. It's no pigging-out fun when no roasted pork or "lechon" is present. It's yummylicious! This was served during my baby shower. I craved for lechon so even though it's pricey I purchased it, good thing my friends/visitors craved too, then we had fun along with that roasted pork. :-) And am going to eat again like this on Sunday, the first birthday of my friend Ramchelle daughter, Julianna. :-) Yummm! Don't be grumpy because it's yummylicious! :-P

Occasion sessions. Okay, you might don't know what to give to your love-one but for sure girls do love flowers. Mothers does, girlfriend, sisters or even you like to have flowers. I just remember when my  husband suggested me to give flower to my friend's daughter during her christening and from then on, fresh bouquet of flowers is always present during special occasions to give to my girlfriends (or family circle) along with a card. For sure I/you would love to have flower coupon codes during these moments. It does help when you like to save (of course we all love to save, aren't you?) you know. We can even buy something more if we have coupon. And that would make more fun, isn't it? Ah, precious family and friends deserve of such wonderful present!

The birthday celebrant with her daughter Celyn, blowing the candles.
Above is the group and left below is the family of the celebrant, Au. Then Dorie and I on the right.

My very first friend in the place where I resides now was having her birthday on the first day of June. We have the same birth country and of course, time varies here in USA and when it's June 1st already there, it's not yet here. Technically, she celebrated twice. *wink* And Dorie and I surprised to visit her during her Philippines time birthday, which is May 31st here. She was happy on our visit and that's what really counts. She's a treasured friend and am happy seeing her happy. Along with our visit was my birthday lovely fresh flowers, ice cream cake and a birthday card. The cake wasn't personalized as I wanted but it's fine. Haven't had my birthday gift as I used to give but that made her so I am also happy. We had fun. She brought us to Maxx Restaurant, strolling, chikkas and etcetera. We were with her only daughter, Dorie and I. Her husband wasn't able to come but he was there when we arrived and he's happy and grateful. He is cool. Some of my friends too wasn't able to come but then it's fine, maybe they can make it next time. All in all, it was a fun birthday celebration of her. She did not think I can remember her birthday but I always will. Thanks by the way to Dorie and her husband by the way for the transportation and for getting me the ice cream cake near her resident. It was a rush event. *wink*)
Above were our pics outside the resto. At left with Dorie and Celyn and at right, me with the birthday celebrant with her daughter. Below are my faces inside the resto of Maxx Restaurant in West Covina, Los Angeles, was about six months pregnant.

Happy birthday again Au. muahhhhugs!

Tomorrow is one day before the memorial celebration for this year 2011. It would then be on the 30th of May. But stores, malls and other business establishments celebrate it days before and on that day which it is celebrated. It is "on-sale" now! I mean "sale" of goods (and some services) in honor of Memorial Day (it is called then, a Memorial Day Sale event).

This is by the way celebrated every year to commemorate those folks who serve this country with all their heart and lives. Fought in war to obtain freedom. Fought for their lives to protect this nation. I have to make a bow on them. You all be remembered. Kudos to you!

Happy Memorial weekend all! Have fun for this holiday!

My birthday went fine. I thought I would just go to church to lit-up candles but went with some friends afterwards with no plan, okay, a minute plan and then just went. Thanks goodness my friends were able to be with me, they are free and were able to go as a minute-plan went. Ooh well. Thanks to Heaven Above for providing me with them. My DH was able to met them too though he didn't ate anymore as he was just from his office (we ate just few meters at the back of the buildings where my DH works) and was a mood to eat dinner few hours afterwards and it's fine as long as we met-up with friends. :-) Just as planned, I went to church but the church which is near at my friends house as well as the buffet resto where we had our small pig-out. Hehe! Te Claudine gave me awesome perfume and birthday card, Au ordered a delicious personalized mango cake from Red Ribbon with live fresh flower pink tulips in a pot and a birthday card and Dorie and Au managed to bring their kids and Au's husband, Cesar, was able to attend too in my birthday get-together. Their presence are precious and I treasure it (of course not only that day but throughout the whole me)! I am just a simple person and their presence are highly appreciated.

Above left was my yummy birthday cake (courtesy of my friend Au and Cesar), then picture-taking on the right.
Above were birthday stuffs. Thnx my precious friends & DH. Below were taken inside the Golden Coast Buffet where we had our pigging-out. Hehe! Thanks much guys!
DH gave me a bouquet of fresh flowers with gift cash (thanks DH, luv u!) for me to buy what I want and I really did. :-) And my friend Analou gave me something for my few jewelry to hang-on, it's a woman-figured. I guess you know how it looked-like. I will show it to you next post as it was in my other camera. Thanks for all your birthday wishes, etc! To all who greeted me here in my blog(s), Facebook, sent me messages, texted and called. Thanks much guys (you know who you are)! I won't forget your kindness and such. Above all, thanks Lord God for giving me another precious age. Am 25forever! ;-) Thanks God for my precious family and friends. ~hugs&kisses~

May 01, 2011

When will be your anniversary? Well, it doesn't matter when actually. As long as you do not forget it. Made/make a plan in advance to surprise your behalf is great to know you have something prepared for. Every anniversary celebration is great, 5th anniversary gift baskets on your 5th is also awesome for you to do it. I do not know if you are celebrating everyday on your love but for me, anniversary is special and essential. :-) Well, it does not need to be expensive. It is just that you will make your partner special! Thoughtful gestures, as they say. So then, have an advance anniversary for you two! Have a great one. ~hugs&kisses~

April 24, 2011

For Holy Friday I (with my friend Te Claudine), made a sweetened root crops with coconut milk or " binignit " (in my dialect, from Camiguin Island, Philippines) and my own version of fruit salad last Holy Thursday afternoon. I missed being in the Philippines having such during Holy two days (Holy Thursday and Holy Friday) for our fasting and abstinence of meat and meal. Yes, we served that as for such belief or we just used to that foods during such time. That was why I thought of made such. Glad Te Claudine and kids visited me. Then came another friend, Dorie to joined me during the second day. I was going to invite or gave Preciel  and Au but am thinking she could not make it, so I have to make it up for her next time. Oops, I have a pic for my fruit salad made of fruit cocktails in cans, bottles nata de coco (color red and white, the red made it beautiful to look at, i love this color to put on it), peaces slices, little oranges in can, whole kernel corn, young coconut strips (" buko " ) with nestle cream and condensed milk, but the picture was on my other camera. I will upload it next time. :-) For now, have a great Easter Sunday folks! Have fun tomorrow! (I still have " binignit " and a serve of fruit salad here)

March 29, 2011

Okay, this is Lenten Season. A time for fasting and abstinence. Next month, specifically on the third week, will be the holy week and then came Easter Sunday. And what's comes next? I mean what family occasion should we celebrate? Do you remember Mother's Day happens every month of May and then for Father's Day for the month of June? Yes, Mother's Day is on the 8th of May (just three days after my birthday). Whew! Time flies so fast! Seems like I was just 21 years old yesterday, hah aha! And then days will come-by and I will be a mom. What a nice feeling it would be. But for now, let us talk about your plan for this Mother's Day celebration which is fast approaching. Do you have some special mothers day gifts planned for your beloved mom? You know it is great to plan and make a list unlike having some difficulty of finding it because we did not plan it. You can just put it on your mind or as I said put it in a list. For sure you would want your mom feel very special on that day. As in, you are very happy having her. Why not?! Grab such opportunity to thank and let her feel on that special day of hers. Good luck then, and all the best on your plan. :-)

You maybe one of those folks who collect mugs, like to give mugs as giveaways or any other occasions (okay not all the time) or just give it to your friends and family as remembrance. You are sweet. Your hobby teaches you to be kind and being one of a kind. Alright, I may not be a mug obsessed but I appreciate mugs especially with arts on it. It would be better if it is photo mugs as I love looking up photos of my family and friends. Well, for some kind of unique way instead of photo frame or a photo album kind of stuff. For me, photo mugs are also great for gifts as the receiver is the character in a mug, don't you think it's cool? I don't know what you think but it is cool for me.

How was your valentines celebration everyone? Ours (hubby and I) was just a simple one. I whispered unto cupid that I only want fresh flowers this valentines and it was granted, thankfully! I only want economical this time. I do not know what comes to my mind (perhaps because we will be three on the coming months) but that is only what I want. Period. :-) Cupid was very good as maybe he/she whispered it too to my dear husband. At afternoon sharp, I was surprised DH went home carried a fresh flowers in a vase (I love it because I do not need to put and arranged it unto our vase, yey! Bonus point. Happy me!) I then make sure I had something for him to be fair. I look for a coat and cap which he would like to have but I cannot find it unto the store nearby to which I headed to the other stuff I planned. Chocolates, balloon and valentines card for my ever dearest. And I did it though he came home before me. :( Nonetheless because my effort worth it, he likes what I gave. Indeed, a happy valentines day for us! Ended up a dinner at home which is great!

Happy Valentines Day!

February 03, 2011

It is now new year, actually, it is second month of the year. New Year celebration is celebrated after 12 a.m. of 31st of December and so it is already January 1st. With that celebration, it involves foods. And not just ordinary foods but round ones which were traditionally prepared in the table. In deep sense, the round ones stand or to carry-out good luck and blessings for the entire year. And also have to dress something which has round or dots with it as it is to attract money. Whew! That would be awesome! Of course being wise and hard work has to go with it. There are still more to do during new year, like all the containers have to be full and never have to take out money from packet. Never eat or have something which acts backward like no chicken or turkey as it scowl their feet on the ground backwards and much more. Also turn on the volume of appliances or make sounds with all the family's motor vehicles or any motor-made. Even kettles and pans has to make sounds. And have to jump to add height than normal. And much more!

To go with the tradition and to attract, love, grace, money, blessings, or prosperity the homemaker of me prepared these below for our family with DH. (You can enlarge by clicking the image below should you like to do so.)

What about you, what did you do during the New Year 2011 celebration?

January 17, 2011

Today is the 3rd Monday of this month, is a United States Federal Holiday honoring Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. So no works for employees both public and private sectors. As well as there are no classes. If private employees should have to work, then they would have double pay as it is mandated in the law. How time flies by so fast. It was just two years ago at just this day I write my first post about this historical event and then I just realized it is already 2011. Whew! :-) The good this is this is the 25th year (silver celebration) of his commemoration.

So how was your day so far? What do you do? Have you been in a manic Monday? Or just relax and let the day be over and get ready for tomorrow. Well, whatever you are doing, enjoy and have fun for the rest of the day!

Have a great day!

January 14, 2011

Can you tell there are errors (in terms of arrangement of utensils and obviously one food) in an image below? Yes, there are four mistakes! Can you find it? I should have to say, obviously! Sorry about it, I ran out of time that was why I just put it as what you see. I know it right after it was arranged (the day after such actually since I already have time to search it out how. Hehehe! Sorry about this.)

And so about what I displayed above (you can enlarge through clicking the image), it was what I prepared on Christmas Day. The highlight was a hamonado-de-pinya or pineapple ham since that was my first cook of such recipe. I got such recipe from my maternal aunt-in-law which before Christmas of two years ago, I thought of how tasty her ham was when I was still there in Philippines. She usually cooked and served it during fiesta but since there is no fiesta here in USA and ham is the main food during Christmas then I planned and got her recipe through text and call. Ha! What a silly me. After that, I was not satisfied since I want to see a video or picture how it was being made. You know, ingredients are not cheap and I do not want to messed it or wasted. I was intimidated of my curiosity actually. And when I went to the wet market to buy such pork upper leg, I found nothing just enough for three or four people, it was big so I decided not to buy. Until Christmas 2010 came, still such pork upper leg could found nowhere as the size I wanted. And so I settle of small one which fit to my standard which do not have skin just few fats (I wanted the fats and the skin as well) but that was fine. And so that was it. I also baked two cakes (red velvet cake and carrot cake from Betty Crocker) which ended up looks like only one and haven't artistically completely done. But it ended up taking off the frosting as DH preferred it nothing, too much sugar is no good. For some other foods in there (other than I mentioned lately) were ready-made barbecue chicken, broiled catfish, Christmas-sy decorated cupcakes, fruit cocktail and cheese breads. Together with the foods are martinelli and sprite for the drinks. Let's eat and Cheers!

And this is my Food Trip this Friday! (Again sorry for the arrangement of the utensils and the undone cake)

January 10, 2011

Few days ago, if am not mistaken Christmas time, my stepdaughter kept on bugging my husband asking if her gift (actually "gifts" because it has for me too and her niece (a daughter of her paternal brother which we called with Donald a niece too, who is Danielle) already arrived. Knowing her she wants her greeting card, gifts or pressie to arrive on-time. She never mind if it cost much to mail it just to let the recipient know and appreciate it on-time. But sad to say it did not arrive on-time because it arrived today. But nevertheless because it arrived safe and sound. He he he! My husband has a box of three pieces of handkerchief and a classic necktie clip, Danielle got teddy and a beautiful little princess book. And I got a pretty sparkling necklace from Forever 21.Now, I will just make it up to you Rochelle! Thanks a bunch! Really appreciated. I actually wearing it now. Thanks again. God bless!

January 02, 2011

It is just a wish because it is close to impossible. Why? It is not because I have been already married but because my hubby is not a Roman Catholic. Yes, many religions still have bridesmaids and wear bridesmaid dresses but because I do not think his religion has bridesmaids and sponsors like that. If they have, it is great yet still I want it like what I used to see aside from he never step or enter unto my church and I respect him as much as he respects my religion. After all, we are not that so religious. Now, you understand the scenario. :-) Yet, I still wish to have it. God bless to me. He he he! Ooh wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses, flower girls, etc. :-)

December 25, 2010

What have you done last night as for your Christmas eve? Do you have "Noche Buena" or you don't believe it? If you do, do you party it with your family or your friends? Or your special someone? Whoever you are with, I know you are happy and enjoying as you celebrate and commemorate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior and Holy One.

Now, what did you cooked? Did you have a do-it-yourself foods? As for me, I cooked hamonada-de-pinya (Filipino-style) for my highlight. I have such recipe from my aunt in Magting (a place in Philippines where I grew-up) which I remembered it last year and call at the same time texted her how to cook it. She gave me the recipe and I had some research online, some video since it is my first time and it is only here USA I know how to cook (excluding the basic ones like cooking rice) especially the foods here (it's just foods here are already in pack which is easy to prepare, well not all, but mostly). Then little by little (well, it took me hard to learn it. Hahaha! *blush*) I learned it and pictured it out how. I did not take a chance on experimenting because ingredients are not cheap. Only to find out last year that there was no meat available (well, I shopped on the 11th hour) but how many kilos it was. I settle for nothing but not until last night. I did it how I wanted its taste, honestly. And I could not be proud of myself. Can you figure it now, how it look-like? A hint, I had pork butt (in lieu of pork upper leg which I wanted to but it is very big so I settled for a butt. I will post picture and its recipe on other post next time. For now, I have to great you all, Merry Christmas! ~hugs~

December 24, 2010

When it comes to kids, Elmo is such a common thing. Kids adore it and wanted it like their mom. Oops! Okay, it is kids stuff. This time of year, giving gifts to kids is such memorable to them. I would not believe it is one of their happy moments (if not happiest) the whole year round. If you want your kids to be merry, you may like to give him/him personalized elmo apparel especially if they are Elmo fans. For sure, they would not forget you. Now, it is not only you are happy but the kids you love too! Merry Christmas!

December 23, 2010

.... and it will be Christmas! What have you have on your mind now knowing that two more days and it is Christmas then? Do you already have some special recipe on your mind to commemorate such birthday of Jesus Christ, the Redeemer? A ham, for sure will be present as this is one symbol of this one special date of the year. What about a wine, red wine, martinelli (a juice in a look-alike wine bottle but no alcohol, just pure juice but mind you somewhat taste like a wine. Did I give you a hint if your health is not allowed for wine? You bet it! He he he!) or alike? ;-)

Just want to greet you a two-days ahead Christmas greeting or an advance, Merry Christmas? Did you already wrap a gift for me? Ha ha ha! Just kidding.. So then, have fun and enjoy the rest of two days left and it will be more special then. Tomorrow (24th of Dec) is a holiday. Happy holidays! Woohoo!

December 21, 2010

Seems like a child huh! Folks especially kids are very much excited when talking about Christmas, why? It is simply because of the gifts. :-) Not only that but foods, entertainment and many other things that we can do during Christmas time. And me, like a child who is also excited though am the one who will cook, and I prefer it that way. Oops, I do not cook that much. In fact, I plan to buy some  ready-made-foods because I cannot occupy my time with it. I need a help you know.

And so it is only three days and hours then it is already Christmas Eve then. Are you excited? How do you feel? How do you feel celebrating it?
